NestPlus at EXPO REAL 2026, Munich — with Transylvania Evolution
NestPlus took part in EXPO REAL 2026 in Munich, 5–7 October, as part of the Transylvania Evolution delegation — the private initiative that has carried the Cluj region to the fair for thirteen consecutive years. More than fifty executives from over twenty public and private organisations made up this year's group.
The fair is where European real estate meets its capital: in its 28th edition, EXPO REAL brought together developers, investors, lenders and cities from across the continent, with infrastructure added this year as a new focus alongside investment. For a group that develops, builds and keeps its own retail parks, three days of back-to-back meetings with the people who finance and buy this asset class are worth more than any conference.
What NestPlus brought to the table was a pipeline on the ground, not a concept: Brăila Plaza, taking shape and opening in 2026; Vitan Plaza in Bucharest; the sites that follow. And the vehicle built to hold them — NestPlus Retail Fund Alpha, designed to keep and operate the parks the group delivers rather than sell them on completion. Supermarket-anchored retail parks in Romanian regional cities are a market institutional capital has largely overlooked. That is the conversation we went to Munich to have.
Over the three days we met a long list of investors — groups already active in Romania and looking at their next step, and others taking a first serious look at the country, Ciprian Comșulea of Transilvania Invest among them. Between meetings, good company too: Daniel Pițurlea and Patricia Sturzoiu with the Concelex and Quadratum teams, and the colleagues from The Concept. Plaza led most conversations, but not all of them: NestPlus Living, our residential arm, has three major projects ahead in Bucharest — NestPlus Basarab, Hotel Basarab with Tribe & Adagio by Accor, and NestPlus Muncii — and more than one meeting ended on those rather than on retail.
